News From and about the WWDSS

January 15 2024

WWDSS is thrilled to be selected as the spring recipient of the 100 Women Who Care Waterloo Region!

With the support of this generous donation, planning has started on two new programs.  First, WWDSS will be resuming and expanding its pre-pandemic summer camp for 2024 to include members with Down syndrome between the ages of 6 and 21.  The other new program will be an employment skills and coaching opportunity which we hope to launch in 2024 for members with Down syndrome ages 18 years and older.  These initiatives were identified based on the meaningful discussions that we had with families earlier this year through the future planning sessions.  We are excited to have the seed funding to bring these programs to life from 100 Women Who Care Waterloo Region!

Thank you to the organisers of the 100 Women Waterloo Region event and to all the amazing local women who contributed to the donation. Special thanks also go toKim Langan-Varga and Lana Zilinski for nominating us!
